Make the harbourfront a lively urban environment year round, by attracting enough residents to support an adequate supply of services.

Means

Point St. Charles
railway yards
Traffic congestion
  • Develop the residential potential of the districts bordering
Old Montréal, i.e. Faubourg Québec, Faubourg des Récollets, Griffintown, the basins and the Lachine Canal area.
  • Develop the residential potential of the northern tip of
Nuns’ Island, with respect for the shoreline and archaeological remains.
  • Develop the residential potential of Cité du Havre, and create a true linear park along the shoreline on the south side.
  • Explore the potential of mixed development of the
Point St. Charles railway yards, without disrupting
    VIA Rail operations.
  • Develop a protocol for managing contaminated soils, in collaboration with the Quebec Department of the Environment.
  • Address problems of coexistence caused by traffic congestion in
    Old Montréal
