Encourage the continuation of industrial operations, while planning other uses for these sites if industries relocate or close.

Means

• Include a policy to promote the harmonious coexistence of industrial and urban activities in the City's urban plan.

• Protect railway operations around the Jacques Cartier bridge from interference by urban activities.
• Ensure that development in Point St. Charles does not interfere with
  VIA Rail shops.
• Ensure that development of the basins area takes the adjacent industrial and port operations into account.
• Plan alternative uses for these areas if industrial operations there
  shut down.
